T he foaling calculator is based on a 340 day term. If you have a mare that deliveries earlier or later you can put that number in the "Desired gestation length" to calculate for the estimated foaling date.

Mare Care Regiment/Vaccine schedule

The schedule below is a suggested vaccination schedule and is based on generally accepted veterinary practices.
As always you should consult with your veterinarian regarding a vaccination program that will provide the most benefits for you horse in your area.
Rabies should be given annually before breeding.

Ultrasound #1 Currently, the earliest that an Ultrasound can detect a pregnancy is at 14 days/2 weeks. / /  
Ultrasound #2  The second is now scheduled for detection of the heartbeat at 28 days/4 weeks: (but the beats can be detected anytime after day 24) / /  
1st Pregnant Mare Rhinopneumonitis (Rhino) Vaccination at 5 months/22 weeks/154 days / /  
2nd Pregnant Mare Rhino Vaccination at 7 months/31 weeks/217 days / /  
The third Tri-mester begins at 32 weeks/226 days now is the time to add a Mare/Foal feed to help get all the nutrients for both the mother and foal to ensure proper fetal growth. (We use Purina Omelena 300) / /  
3rd Pregnant Mare Rhino Vaccination at 9 months/40 weeks/280 days / /  
All other vaccines should be give within 45 days of foaling to provide high levels of antibodies in colostrum. Give Tetanus, Encephalomyelitis (EEE/WEE), Influenza at 10 months/43 weeks/301 days / /  
The mare should be wormed approximately 10 to 11 days before foaling. 47 weeks/329 days / /

Canon Bone Method
Another method can be used on a new foal to come up with a mature height. Give them a couple of days to 'unfold' and then take a "cannon bone" measurement from the dent in the knee to the coronary band (the top hairline of the hoof. Multiply this measurement by 4, add 2, and you will get adult height for a miniature horse.
